Hello there! I have a Tekonsha brake controller installed in my 2013 Pro 4X Titan and it refuses to connect for some reason. We have verified that the issue is not the fuse, (we just had it replaced), it isn't corrosion on the plugs and the issue isn't with the trailer because we plugged it into a friend's truck and it connected. I'm thinking it's an electrical issue on my truck like maybe a pinched or damaged wire but I don't know where to look. Can anyone help? Thanks! Lori

Look above the tail pipe where it bends upward behind the muffler. It might have melted the harness up there. Check in the IPDM to see if all of the relays are installed. You should have 4 in there.

Get a multimeter. pin test the plug at the hitch to find the wire(s) not conducting when the brakes are applied and start your trace backwards by following the color to the problem spot. use both the ground pin to test and then ground against the frame to test to make sure it's not the ground wire at fault.

If you eliminate wires as the issues, then move on to relay testing. If relay testing is not at fault, then the controller may either have failed or have a bad connector.

Pay particular attention to the brown/white wire in the truck and the blue in the trailer connector. If I recall, the brown/white it is fed by a fuseable link (40amp) in the truck and that is what applies active current to the electric brakes from the blue wire to the 7 pin connector.
