i have a 2010 titan 4x4 with about 40000 miles and yesterday i was pulling a small landscape trailer and the wheels starting squeaking and fealt like the truck was dragging so i drove it about 3 miles home and disconnected the trailer and drove it around the block and it was fine. i drove it to work today (about a 15 minute drive) and was fine.drove it back home this afternoon and backed into my driveway to the garage and started dragging again! when i pulled away from the house it was squeaking and just didnt feel like it was rolling without giving it some gas ! any ideas ? went to take it to a neighbors house that works on cars and couldnt get it to do it but figures!
thanks for your help in advance!

Two things come to mind. Either your parking brake cable is getting stuck, thus keeping pressure on the shoes, or you're about to have the parking brakes disintegrate. Your truck's pretty new, so my first suggestion is to find out if the cable is binding up somewhere.

Take off the rear tire and then remove the two caliper mounting bolts. Push the clip up and lift the caliper from the bottom away from the rotor and it will come free. let it hang, use a deadblow, rubber mallet, or even a piece of wood to tap the rotor until you can take it off..this will expose the P-brake assembly. Check it ASAP you don't want to end up like me!

Mine came apart, all the bits were crammed in the bottom and trashed, it also ate my tone-ring for the ABS so I have a permanent slip fault until it's replaced..which involves pulling the axle.

-look at your shoes for excessive wear
-poke at all the springs and pins to be sure they are intact and not about to break
-look in the toggle box (the little metal deal that actually connects to the cable) and be sure it's not pinched or has debris in it.

Be sure to use a jackstand or blocks under the rear axle so you can jack with it without risking pulling it off the jack

I have a 2011 with 41,000 miles and the same thing just happened to me today. Passenger side rear parking brake shoes delaminated with a loud pop. It squeaked all the way home something terrible. Got home and pulled the wheel and rotor off. I cleaned out the broken stuff and reassembled it. I will fix it another day.
