What do you guys recommend for brake pad on 2006 Titan. Daily driver, no mudding, racing or anything like that. Just broke 100,000 miles. Bought used about 5 years ago.
Thanks in advance.

Can't go wrong with Hawk pads. I haven't run them myself, but haven't heard anything BUT good things about them. I will be running these on mine soon, when I change my rotors for a set a touch less warped!

I tow a 9K lb trailer, insist on being able to stop..... and use Brake Motive rotors front (slotted and dimpled, NOT drilled...), standard rotors in the rear and Autozone semi metallic pads. $29 each axle last time I bought. As good as any EBC or Hawke towing pads I've used in the past. Semi's are organic and will bed and grab better than ceramic, ceramic kevlar or any other 'fancy' pad. High heat racing pads....kevlar or carbon fiber recipe are way overkill for street use and don't work until they're heated up. Ceramics are by design, made to dust in a different color (gray) than semi's so you don't see the grunge on your wheels. The other benefit from semi's....they are less prone to grooving your rotors like ceramic pads do. So, if you want less dust, buy a ceramic. If you're going to race your truck, .....

For the street and you don't care about cleaning your wheels, I suggest the semi metallic or even an old style organic if they're still available!

Honestly, I use the mid-grade Advance Auto stuff. It has a lifetime warranty so I usually end up with a switchout or two on warranty if they wear weird, they're inexpensive and do the job, and I can get them down the street. I think I use the silver semi-metallic for pads. I did have the back brakes done by a shop lately and I suspect they get their parts from Napa, and the back brakes & rotors feel fine (and my parking brake works!).

One of our site sponsors is 1A-Auto... several months ago, I needed rear brake rotors and pads for my 2006 CC LE. I had Frozen Rotors/Hawk pads on it for about 8 years and they were done. I was in a $$$$ crunch at the time and was looking for something inexpensive but reasonable quality. Mike at 1A-Auto had a sale going on the Nakamoto rotors and pads... I think it cost me less than $100 for the rear pads and rotors.

So far, they are performing great! The rotors are showing very little wear and almost no corrosion after about 5 months of use. They perform so well that I just ordered a new set of front rotors and pads so I can pass state inspection. Once I get those on, we will see how they wear as the fronts do most of the braking on this beast. But they seem to be a good quality item... even though relatively new on the US market. :dunno:

Check them out. Not pricey at all.

Stay away from ceramics... I have ceramics now and if you want your brakes to feel mushy all the time go ahead and get them. I can stop (activate ABS) if I have to, but I have to jump on the brake pedal to do it. Semi metallic all the way and for a DD no real need to go with Hawk.

I had Frozen rotors and hawk pads which were great. I was looking to save a few bucks and followed advice given on the big brake conversion thread and got Brake Motive rotors and the $25 +/- autozone semi metallic pads. The rotors are great so far, but I hated the pads because the squeaked (yes I used brake quiet) and made a ton of dust, so much so that I tossed them and got a new set of Hawk pads. More $$$, but silent and little/no dust.

Best price I found:

FYI on the rotors:

It says those rotors are 320. Isn't that the OE size listed on their site in the frozen rotors description?

Sent by my thumbs using whatever means necessary

Duralast gold or whatever the highest quality autozone has is called. I use to do brakes once a year with the lower quality. Been 2 years with these so far and I'm not even going to bother with them because their stopping good. Also no more black wheels.
