After draining, flushing (with distilled water) my cooling system numerous times yesterday, when I went to tighten the plastic drain plug for the last time, I heard a "crack". Sure enough, the head of the plastic drain plug snapped off. I swear I was not gorilla tightening this thing. So just the head broke off. It's not leaking. I noticed the hole in the center of the drain plug is hex so I found an allen wrench that fit in the center and was able to tighten the plug about 1/4 turn. The plug is fully seated.

Anyone else ever had this happen to them? It's an OEM radiator. Are replacement drain plugs available? I'm asking because when I would open the drain plug, it would only unscrew so far and then it would stop. Either it was out of thread, or there's something on the inside end of the drain plug that prevents it from being removed all the way.

HRTKD once sent me a link to this Quick Valve.

Same thing happened when I installed my 3 row. I have not used this yet but it's going on before my big tow of the summer.

I have the Quick Valve on my CSF 2 row radiator. It makes draining the radiator a piece of cake with no mess.

It happened to me quite a while ago. Yes, replacements are available from Nissan parts.
