Ok, I just got home. The average DA was 1830', using 60433, 650' elevation, 29.96 BP, avg temp at 74 with the dew average at 41. All runs were in FST, no reduced weight at all, truck weighed in at 5120 on the track scale on the last run, octane in the tank was a mix and was at 91 octane.

I found the results pretty interesting. My best ET was 14.660 and that was on the regular 87 tune +2 timing. All runs were with the WOT restriction disabled. I had very minor traction problems on a couple runs (not in pic), most launches were with very good traction. I was hoping for a better ET based on Ravelo's BD results, but that was not the case. Each timeslip is marked with the BD tune I ran and timing. The stock tune faired very well. I reflashed a total of 3 times, started at 93 then to regular 87, then to stock, and finally back to reg 87 tune. All reflashes went flawlessly and took maybe 5 minutes each. In a way I'm disappointed I didn't have any 14.4 slips, but in another way, I'm glad the regular 87+2 timing delivered acceptable results, since that is my new everyday driving setting.

so no matter what you're 14.7 really, and the BD did nothing over the 2* on stock? I thought I could feel the difference maybe I'll run the regular gas +2* instead of the premium... I only run premium so just assumed it'd be the most aggressive setting :(

Wow I thought you would've had better times than that, since adding your JBA cat-back and BD.
Was there a head wind?
Still good times,I just thought the BD would give you more.

A month ago I ran high 14.8's-14'9's with the JBA and a DA at 2200'. The real difference is in the 60' time. There was no headwind. WOT restriction disabled helped a little because I did have a 60' run at 2.169 last year with no tuning at all. This Power pup pulls hard till the 1/8 mile, then does nothing for performance on mid to topend with my setup.

The stock setup is with the WOT restriction disabled, if you select that, that's all that is.

I'm satisfied with the regular 87 tune with +2 timing, but I'm very disappointed with the 93 tune with or without +2 timing. I hope jrock at BD has an explanation for this.

wow man crazy that your best times were with reg tune....could it have something to do with not running 93 octane that the premium tune was out of whack?

i am running the 93 tune plus 2* and I feel a good amt of difference so the BD has to be doing some good...

My early butt feeling results, before the track, confirmed what the track results did tonight, but I never did run it up to 90 MPH before tonight on the street because of safety reasons. The Bully Dog performed well up to the 1/8 mile marker, but did nothing after the 1/8 mile marker. I'm very disappointed that the 93 tune was beaten by the regular 87 tune. I hope jrock (BD) can explain that.

Jrock you have some explanin ta dooo.

looking forward to an explanation on this one. good write up sudden.

Just a thought here, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If you're at the track switching thru various tunes, you probably aren't going to get the best results until the ECU learns the new parameters. Perhaps this is why the 93 tune was no better than the 87 tune.

When I first got Uprev, I wasn't impressed. After a couple of days of hard driving, it really woke up.

I was wondering the same. ^^^

Maybe there's a "learning" time frame for the new map???

#14 ·
I ran the 93 tune all week, and that was the first runs at the track tonight, so learning the 93 tune was set and done and not an issue. I then reflashed to the 87 tune, and during two runs on the 87 tune, my 14.660 best ET happened. There's only one way I can see this, the 87 tune (no learning time at all) beat the 93 tune, and I have no idea why at this point.

Keep in mind, the tunes are based on the amount of energy available from a specific octane fuel. It's not entirely the BD's fault for not performing to your expectations when you blend the gas to get an average octane rating between the two tunes. You were running 4 octane higher for the 87 tune, but 2 less for the premium (93) tune. Basically, you gave the 87 tune a boost and restricted the premium tune.

Apples to oranges here. It's not a great comparison. Thanks for posting some more results for the BD though. That puts me one step closer to ordering one :upsidedow

Good comment, but I think the octane difference at most was more like apples to crab apples instead of oranges.

I think crash has a good point. Just like he said you were giving the 87 tune more octane and not giving the 93 enough octane to make the power. That might be whats causing you to have a slower time.

I sent jrock a PM and a link to this thread. Hopefully, he will make a comment here. In that PM, I included my Z tune number (ZH010).

#20 ·
Update: Bully Dog (jrock) did respond to my PM on my track results, and I was told there was a mathematical tuning error in my version ZH010, which covers all three tuning choices I assume, and that V 0.1.2 is a beta version that shipped in error. I'm currently waiting for a new program download from BD.

#21 ·
are we all running the beta version? mine has been downloaded since last thursday. just wondering, dont want to spending the extra money if it's not necessary.

I have posted a reference list of part numbers and version integration. Under our Vendor section.

Also if your Version number is V0.1.2, Then you need to upgrade to a later version. Our Agent now has the latest version uploaded.
Go to the customize tab on the agent and choose reset device binaries.
Plug the Power Pup in and it will retrieve the latest upgrade.

Thanks Jrock

I just loaded the new program into the Pup and that went very smoothly. Later tonight, I'll reflash my Titan with the new program. Bully Dog (jrock) responded and handled this problem quickly. Now I'll have to go back to the track next Tuesday and start all over again. Come to think of it, I'll have to run all new logs again before the track....
