Just got BDPP about a month ago. Love the WOT removal. Have a problem though when I hammer it from stop. Truck seems to rev to 6200 rpm immediately due to tire roasting. Here's the deal.

I haven't been able to stay in it and wait until a second gear shift due to the fact I'm watching my tach and saying please shift.... It doesn't seem to shift so I let off.

Well today. I hammer it from stop. Once again, I freak out due to 2nd gear not shifting and I look at my tach 6100 rpm. So I let off, then I hammer it again. I'm thinking when I did this the serpentine belt said, wait let me catch up and it spun half of it off. Truck still runs but is missing half the belt.

After I take the truck to Nissan for a new belt Monday. I'm thinking I'll lower the BDPP shift point to around 5800 rpm.

This happen to anyone else???

No it hasn't. Lowering the rev limiter will just cause it to bog down for a second. The trans shifting is controlled by a set RPM in the TCU, so until someone cracks the TCU code, you're stuck with the factory set shift RPM. I have to ask, why would you keep the pedal way down when you're smoking the rear tire? With the power you have now, you'll have to roll into the pedal for a second before pushing it all the way down. That will give you a good controlled launch with minimal tire spin in most cases.

Yeah you can punch the gas pedel, but you will have to let off a little bit. Try this, floor it, let it get up to 6k rpm, then back off the throttle 1/4, or even 1/3 the way, which will allow the truck to safely switch into 2nd gear, then once it swtiches punch it again and you'll do fine

I have to do the same thing..I don't have WOT but when there is snow on the ground, and I punch it, the RPMs will jump from 6400 to 6000 and back and forth

if u are into racing and not burning rubber it makes ALOT more sense to me to get tires with better traction and a true trac. maybe even street traction bars. just a thought.. I have 4wd so IF I were to mash to go fast say like a 1/4 mile race I'd pop it in 4hi so I could jump out the hole without breaking into an uncontrollable spin. I've heard of a few guys doin this on here. I actually have 35"s on 20"s so even with my power pup intake and a few other things I don't have any problems with loss of traction on dry asphault to warrant the need for better traction. tho I do want a tru trac beefed up tranny and trac bars just to stabilize my power train more as I feel after the rear end blew twice I also am seeing the tranny sux on the Ts imo. DEFINITELY the tranny mount sux donkey balz.. ANYwayz, sounds like more traction would help for ur problem, ur probably rolling stockers they don't get traction worth a crap, my set of procomp x-ATs had better street traction and they're on OR tire LOL

I like to hammer it from a dead stop. Which I've realized now is not the best way to do it. I'll try rolling into it from now on. Definately don't want to get standed from a broken belt.

Don't know if I'll ever get truetrac but I know I'll need some tires soon. I'm going to get the stickiest one I can...

Can't understand how hammerin' it from a dead stop affects the serpertine belt... Could it be a problem with the belt tensioner? Can't phathom the belt bustin' out with just stompin' on the throttle.

I hammered it from dead stop until around 6200 rpm. Let off for less than a second then hammered it again. Right after that 1/4 of the belt broke.
