Just did the burnout mod tonight, and well it worked... sort of. I did the one where you go straight to the ECU(ECM) and cut the red and white striped wire and put a switch in line.(I didnt see that UpRev could do it till i was searching the form for this question) Well it works but it doesnt turn off now, i might have screwed up a splice some where or something isnt making contact some where because even with the switch in the on position(off) i can still hit the breaks and get 100% throttle.

But my question here is what is the side effect of not having the Red White striped wire connected? What would prevent me from just capping both end of this wire and saying screw the switch.

The brake lights wont illuminate if that red/white wire isnt making connection.

I vote you reconnect that wire as factory and get the Uprev Burnout Patch. It works fantastic.

The break lights work fine, i havent checked if my ABS still works or not.

It could be the switch im gonna re check all my connections today if it doesnt work like its supposed to im gonna re connect everything and to the uprev mod.

Looked at it again today, seems like it was working how it should this whole time. I was going at about 55mph full throttle and fit the break and it cut engine power, flipped the switch and the power came back. I guess i could always do small burnouts with no mod but with the mod i smoke the tire almost instantly. Now i just need a Trutrac(those will spin both correct?)

Also break lights still work with either the switch on or off, so thats nice.

Correct, both will spin with trutrac, Yukon grizzly an so on, there a few different ones available but obviously majority go for the first one.
