busted ball joint advice

MY TRUCK:2008 NISSAN TITAN 6INCH RCX LIFT, 35X12.50 NITTO TRAIL GRAPPLERS, 20IN ICE CHROME RIMS>i have grease starting to show and run on my passenger side ball joint. is this dangerous? can i fix this myself? just traded my 07 for this one...any help would be appreciated...
