That's a lot of miles and Titans tend to be pretty thirsty.
Buying First Titan ???
I have found a Titan I absolutely love! Now, I'm worried about spending that much money! haha. Am I buying a truck that is going to last me a while? I am driving back and forth to school. About 160 miles round trip daily. Anyone have any certain problems with these? Any info will be greatly appreciated!!

You must love it to considering the gas you will use driving back and fourth to school. I think that you will find on here that each person has had different experiences. This is my 2nd Titan and no problems out of either but some have had a total opposite experience. I think overall the most truck for your buck.
Love my brand new one. But with the gas your looking at its all on how much money you make or have...lol

I've bought two off the dealer lot brand new. One was an 04 than ran great with no problems until the dreaded fuel pump went out. The other is a 10 that I'm driving now and love it. I've had it for almost 1 year. The A/C control panel went out, but the dealer replaced it during an oil change. I drive 90 miles per day to and from work, and yes, it is very thirsty. That is the main problem people have is that the T eats gas. If you are driving that much, it's probably highway miles, so you'll get better, but still not good gas mileage. The problem we all have is keeping our foot out of the accelerator. Expect to get 14 and if it gets better, you'll be happy. 28 gallon tank means you'll be filling up every 3rd day.
On my second T, neither one had any problems. I couldn't be happier. A word of caution though as others stated...gas MPG's are something to highly consider. If I were commuting that much daily, the T would be a second vehicle and not my daily driver. You can expect alot $$$ to fill the tank, probably enough spent monthly that you would be able to make double payments on the loan. Good luck.

Im on my 4th titan... i wouldnt even consider it if i had to drive that much.. you are going to be at the pump every other day.. at about 60-80 bucks each time.. i get about 15mpg right now in a stock 2wd titan... and from empty i can squeeze about 22 gal in the tank... which is about 330 miles per tank... and if you drive 160 a day... its not going to be cheap for you... also whats the info on the truck... KC/CC (extended cab or full 4 door) 2wd or 4x4, xe/se/le?, year? miles? price of truck?
Driving that much you'll be filling up every other day. I have a 4x2 w/ the base 2.94 gearing and I'm lucky to average 14 around town. Typically it's mid to low 13s. Now highway it's not bad and I get 19-20. At the end of the day it gets about 2mpg worse than my father's 4x4 '06 F-150 around town but as good or slightly better highway.
I wouldn't want any fullsize truck as a daily driving that much. Might want to look at mid-size trucks. The Canyon I'm selling is awesome on gas for a truck. The only reason I bought the Titan was for a better tow vehicle. The Canyon has an I5 motor that makes 240 horse and is 2WD. I get 17-19 around town where I get 13 in the Titan and I get 24-26 highway where I get 19-20 in the Titan. I'm spending about $80 more per month in gas. That part sucks and will hurt even worse when gas creeps toward $4/gal this summer.
But I was tired of towing with a mid-size truck and the Titan makes trips to the race track much more pleasurable. Lots of people on there will mention to get a fuel efficient beater, but then what's the point of getting the truck to begin with? Just rent/borrow a truck when you need it if that's the case.

^^^ Exactly!!! ^^^^ You can gat a little 4-cyl car that gets 30-35 mpg and come out ahead for that much driving... I once had a Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0 Inline 4-Cyl that consitantly got 32-mpg easy while on some P225/50-R16 Nitto NT450 performance tires...
The truck is a white 04. 4x4. full 4 door. Chrome bull-bar on front. Lift. black wheels and mudgrip tires. It's on copart.com. The site is a dealer site and vehicles go very cheap. Goes out Friday at noon and has no bids as of yet. It is a front end damage truck. Needs headlights and a new bumper. Other than that, it's in very good shape. I'm guessing around $1,500 to fix??

So, i say if u get it,swap daily rides with the husband or something. def do not want to put that much gas every other day in it. Or if you can afford it (which im guessing you may, thinking youll be spending hundreds in gas a month on gas) go buy or lease a little 4 or even 6 cylinder car. just my .03 cents.
I say go for it. Put on a Road Armor bumper and winch. What could be a better long range commuter vehicle than a lifted 4x4 Titan with MTRs? Yeah, it will burn a little gas, but you can always cut back on groceries. Beans & rice is less than 25 cents per serving.
If indeed your serious, before you buy, check and make sure it has a clean title. You mention its from co-parts, you may be dealing with a "R" title. If thats the case the value present and future should be of concern. Do your homework!

For that front end damage, you're assuming none of the lift kit components are damaged... You better factor in another $500-$2500 on parts alone if any of the lift kit components are damaged, depending on which kit it is and which replacement parts are available...
The thread started with driving back and forth to school 160 miles. Don't get me wrong I love my Titan. Are you taking a financial mgmt class or took one yet?? To spend that amount in gas each day puts a serious damper on your pocket.

For the person looking at a Titan to drive it 160 miles per day, damn. Honestly man, it all comes down to if you have the cash to burn, go for it, and I am talking about the kind of cash to make house payments with. If you really want a long distance vehicle, I say 4 cyl man. IMHO... The gas for that distance will not be worth the truck.
As for issues, the only issue I have with my 2006 are my brakes... I wish they were built better. Other than that, I will run my Titan until the rims rot...
