April 22nd I was pulled over in Escondido on the corner of Escondido Blvd and Valley Parkway.
The friendly man in blue cited me for "moving infractions" pfft. :teeth:
Was cited for lack of displaying front license plate, tinted front windows, and & tinted tail lights.
The officer wasn't very talkative and my questions did not get a direct answer....:ftard:
I was issued a citation/fix it ticket and was told if the violations were corrected and signed for by another officer, I would only have to pay a processing fee for the citation.
Today, I received a wonderful letter from the Superior Court of California. I guess they wanted to remind me of my interactions with the friendly officer that day. They were good enough to send me a "courtesy notice" and let me know that I was charged with 3 violations: 5200 (not displaying front plate); 26101 (tinted tail lights); 26708A (tinted windows).
And then proceeded to inform me that a ticket had been issued for a grand total of $553.00!! wtf?
I have yet to deal with any law enforcement in CA, so I dont know the procedure. I have dealt with similar issues in other states, and have found that if you correct the violations and have them signed for, you pay a minimal fee; nothing close to the $553.00.
Anyone deal with similar issues here in CA? I will call the court house on Monday to verify.....but til then, just curious what other experiences have been.
