Man I hope someone can help on here. I have a 09 Nissan Titan, 2WD, Crew cab. Seems I have some type of issue with the interior lights not coming on with the doors opening.

Couple things I should mention, when you open the doors, the door lights come on, but not the overhead lights. I have tested each of the door switched and they do activate the door panel lights, but not the overhead lights.

I am able to manually turn on the overhead lights by switching the switch to door, or on... But if I switch to door... The lights don't turn off after the doors close (except the door, or step lights... They work properly), so I have to keep the switch in the off position.

Hoping someone has seen this before, and can give me some tips... I have tried all the obvious. I have not pulled the switch out yet, but since the rocker seems to turn on and off the lights manually, just not in door mode.. It would seem the light rocker is fine.

Thanks!

Yes... on the light rocker there are 3 stages.

On is to the left (this works)
Door is in the middle (never shuts off, is like On)
Off is on the right (This works)

If the switch is set to Door, or On, the lights stay on regardless of doors opening or closing.

If the switch is set to Off, the lights stay off... all the time.

---

The courtesy lights on the door activate regardless of the rocker switch position, but are activated by actual door sensor, and they all work, as the courtesy door lights come on and go off when door is opened and closed.

I am just perplexed as to why when the rocker switch is set to door... it does not do the same as the courtesy lights, as they should be controlled by the same door push switch. At least thats the way it has always worked in my other vehicles.

---

Maybe something else I thought of that may help narrow what it could be. We bought this truck about a year ago, used... good condition, thats the only issue we saw. I wonder if the previous owner bypassed the dome lights from the doors on purpose, for whatever reason, or accidentally did it when wiring something else. Is this possible? Can you bypass the door close push switch, yet still be able to operate the lights via the light rocker, basically disabling the door function of the rocker? Just shooting in the dark here.

Could be that switch is bad for that light or maybe he had an lcd monitor up there or something and used the light for the power. You would have to pull the switch out to check it with a multimeter or see if it's been messed with. Maybe another member has had this happen and can help you better.
