I am interested in getting a CAI. This is what I want.

(1)Not alot of noise while normal driving
(2) power (hp) gain
(3) Mean sound at WOT!!
I am currently running a Borla Catback. I like the way it sounds, quiet under normal conditions, but you know it there when I put it on the floor.

Is there a CAI out there that meets my "wish list"?????:bangit:

S&B. All you'll ever need. Quiet during normal driving, deafening during WOT and if you feather the throttle ~3k, and the butt dyno liked it. Also, Ram Air mod is easy and you can get it for ~$200.

The S&B is supposed to be better on the VVT engines. The AEM is pretty popular for Titans. The injen is a nice intake, but kinda pricey.

I was looking for the same thing. Did alot of reviewing and comparing between user posts and watched some youtube videos listening to sounds. I bought a Nismo and volant. Tried them both, kept the Nismo installed and sold the volant. Nismo nailed #1 and #3 for me, horsepower gain im not too sure about although to my surprise it does seem a little more torquey in the lower end. I thought that was odd since it seems most reviews were midrange. I had a stock engine prior to this for reference. I def would like to try the injen out but ill be waiting to install exhaust before i start experimenting more.

UPDATE:

al120hp,

I didn't do an ECU reset after the install, and at the time of the above post i hadn't had many miles on it. Now that ive got some road time on the intake I've noticed the shift in power most have referred to.....a decrease in low end, increase in mid and motor has gotten a little quieter. Itll roar when you get on it but great for driving around town. I come from a small beach resort town, and they are very strict with noise so i wouldn't be back here with an update for you if i didn't think it was worth a shot. I do wish I had put more miles on or did a ecu reset with the volant installed to see how much that changed. Hope this can help.

AEM is not loud at all just tooling around or cruising, but when you put some foot in it, watch out!! That and my custom exhaust helped propel my big azz 5400lb truck to a 14.4 @ 94mph.
