Nice post Eddie, good choice with the 4.10's...I'd love some 3.73's for my 35's but that damn truetrac cost kills it for me...almost scored one for $150 a few days ago, talk about a damn good deal if I could have grabbed that!

I know the calculations are nice, but it would be even better if people could follow suit like Eddie did and post what their actual RPMs are with gearing/tire size combo's they have.

Eddie, go higher than 4:10's with your 37's. From my experience with my 4:10's and 35's it is the perfect combination. At 80 I'm a hair under 3k rpms which isn't bad. At 70 I'm maybe 2700. I too was surprised at these results, I figured I'd be pushing 3k at 70-75 mph but not even close. To hit 3k rpms I gotta be over 80 easily. The power off the line is jaw dropping as well which is why I recommend going to a higher gear set. I have learned not to keep anything valuable on that lil spot in the dash because when I get on it, everything up there shoots into the back. I left a whole bunch of coins up there one day...Horrible lol. People told me that my top end would get killed as well, but it pulls hard there too. I can't say these results will be replicated elsewhere, but just my experience to tack on to this thread.

It isn't going to help your gas mileage, and will probably negatively impact it because you will love the pull so much you are going to get on it a lot more. I used to be pretty easy on the gas, but I just can't resist anymore. You will run at higher rpms, not as extreme as some make it out to be, but it still is higher. My mpg's went from 12 to 11.8-11.7 which is hardly noticeable, and I bet if I let off the gas, it'd go right back up. I have noticed my rear tires are getting torn up..Cracks in the tread, one piece of tread has a small chunk missing from it..Never had these problems before, and toyos are too expensive to replace early. Goin to go get them re-balanced and checked out in a few days.
