Question about asking local dealer to run me an equipment/options listing. It's a new to me 2013 SL with a s**t load of luxury stuff but I'm more interested in which rear end it has.

It has a hitch, not sure if it's factory and 7-way plug, also has heated power tow mirrors but doesn't have the auxiliary tranny cooler. Makes me think it's not the big tow package so probably the 2.94 rear end.

If I give the dealer the VIN # can they pull a list of factory equipment/option packages?

Thanks in advance.

check your RPM at 70, if its about 1700 its a 2.94, if its at about 2100 its a 3.36, there is also a tag on the rear diff that tells you what gearing you have. Also chances are if you have small mirrors its a 2.94, big extendable mirrors = 3.36

I'll check RPM's on the way to work tomorrow. The mirrors are the big extendable mirrors. Upper part of mirror adjusts electrically and is heated. Smaller convex mirror at bottom adjusts manually and are not heated.

Thanks!

95% chance it has 3.36 gears, unless previous owner put the mirrors on.

Fishn has given you sound advice. You can check RPM and check the tag on the snout of the rear axle housing, and know for sure. I'm betting that will be faster and easier than asking the dealer for any sort of printout.

Based on RPM's I have the 3:36 rear rear end. I was expecting the auxiliary tranny cooler with the big tow packages then? I didn't miss the tranny cooler until about a week after I bought it and then realized I had made really rookie mistake in overlooking that.

I'll probably be fine without the extra cooler as I'm not likely to tow over 5,000 on a regular basis.

Thanks.

To my knowledge, there is no auxiliary cooler on the tranny. I don't have one (yet) and I have the full tow package with the highest rating.

My truck has the big tow and the door card says CC29, which should mean a 2.94. No axle tag. Before I bought it used I did an old trick learned in my youth scrounging junk yards for stuff when you can't drive 'em to see what you're buying.......jacked it up at the rear and using a tire crayon put a mark on the drive shaft and a mark on the inside of free rear wheel tire. Rotate the rear wheel one full rev while counting the rev's of the drive shaft. Less than three...2.94 More than 3....3.36.

My shaft spun more than three .... proving that any info that I could have retrieved by VIN would have been suspect. Without an actual build sheet you're on your own.

Every titan has the cooler, its in between the radiator & condenser. You just cant see it.
Call the parts guy at a dealer they can read your Vin.

AZ, you're right on the cooler. I just meant (but didn't say clearly) there is no "auxiliary cooler" for tow package trucks. Just the one main cooler sandwiched in the radiator area.
