it has nothing to do with IFS, truck wasnt made for the weight (GMs are IFS as well). while you can do it i wouldnt. plowing is more for 3/4 and 1 tons and bigger. the suspension is just a little more HD. that being said ive seen S10s with plows and while they work when the plow comes off the ground the bumper touches the ground

I think he meant a Chevy prior to 89 when they were still using SA.

my point was a half ton truck wasnt made to carry a plow at all, whether or not it has IFS. it may be worse for an IFS truck to carry a plow than a SA truck but a 3/4 or 1 ton with an IFS is fine for plowing.

snow plow trivia.........Ford offers a snow plow prep pkg
for the F-150. It includes extra H-D cooling because
according to Ford the plow can decrease air flow
into the radiator.

when youre not plowing and the plow is up, it can and will block airflow...whats wrong with extra cooling? all trucks need more cooling than they give them especially tranny cooling
