I think he meant a Chevy prior to 89 when they were still using SA.

my point was a half ton truck wasnt made to carry a plow at all, whether or not it has IFS. it may be worse for an IFS truck to carry a plow than a SA truck but a 3/4 or 1 ton with an IFS is fine for plowing.

I used my S-10 ZR2 for plowing, one of the best ever! That thing was like using a mini snowblower! In and out of the smallest areas. All I did was turn up the torsion bars a bit when the plow was on, and it didn't drop but a inch or two. Torsion bars are good in that way.

a 1/2 ton can plow fine it's not about power it's about traction We used to plow with an old 60hp Jeep it had true 4wldrive like a tractor and was unstopable. it all comes down to selecting the proper set up and what you want to plow. For resedential drive ways a Jeep or old Toyota short bed can't be beat as they are very manuverable.

Iwould not put a 9ft plow on a half ton anything and go plw 50 parking lots with it but for your own house and grandma's they will do just fine just select the lighter weight plow set up pretty much every manufacturer has them

We currently use a T100 with a Meyer plastic blade set up The plastic blade has help up great but I needed to weld a few pieces into the plow frame to stiffen it up snapped the frame once. i kind of wonder why more of them don't have that plastic blade set up no rust, snow slides right off,no dents and it's lighter than the steel ones. I'd be looking for that even if I had a 1 ton.

The local Nissan dealership has a Titan set-up for a plow....
I saw the same thing today at our Nissan Dealership. We got a foot of snow last nite and they were plowing it away with an '04 titan.

first post/new Titan owner - thanks everyone for all the good information so far.

I had been shopping for a plow also. I live in the North West. We don't get snow that often (3-5 times per year). When we do get snow we get "snowed in" for several days at a time. We have a steep gravel driveway off of a fairly long gravel road that does not get plowed by the county. I was not too excited about needing to permanently mount anything to the new truck.

I know it is not exactly a traditional plow. I ended up choosing this one:

Snow Plowing | Rear Plow | Snow Removal Equipment | Pickup Plows

I bought the 8" "EZ"

It just arrived this week. I have not had much of a chance to use it yet, but I am very happy with it so far. It is built well and it seems to works as advertised. It cleaned up the mess left over from our last storm in no time. I can use it on my Jeep Wrangler if needed, and I can loan it to the neighbors (no mods needed on the truck). I'll have to wait for the next snow to give it a real work-out.

snow plow trivia:).........Ford offers a snow plow prep pkg
for the F-150. It includes extra H-D cooling because
according to Ford the plow can decrease air flow
into the radiator.
when youre not plowing and the plow is up, it can and will block airflow...whats wrong with extra cooling? all trucks need more cooling than they give them especially tranny cooling

I saw a white Titan with a few bright LED orange strobes and a light bar on the roof flashing bright orange. Looked like an awesome truck. Plowing away a parking lot.. That was seen in Aurora, CO

I heard good things from Sno-Way 26 & Fisher Homesteader 7'4'' owners. The Titan has a soft front end so if you're gonna plow professionally with a larger & heavier plow, make sure you install Timbrens in the front-end. I put a homesteader 7’ 4” on my Titan, I only plow 3 100+ yard driveways and I have no complaints. I stacked 6+ feet and the truck doesn’t even feel the plow. Plus it’s light enough & small enough to move & store in the garage. It works great and I have zero regrets on the smaller unit….less wear & tear on my Titan….all the better!

If I can figure out how to reconfigure the pictures to work on the site, I'll post some up.

Re: I have a plow on my nissan titan SE

I just ordered a Boss sport duty 7'. Im thinking of going to the 7'6" instead. Did you need to add anything to your truck? I have a 04 Titan with a cap and alot weight in the back. Do you know how much Timbrens cost installed and what they actually do?

Thanks,
Jayson

I have a 7'6" Meyer snow plow on a 2005 Titan LE 4x4. I love it. I just put it on and only plowed very little but it seems to be great. Do a search in this forum for plow, and you will see Pictures of a few titans with plow.

I have a sno way plow. Been plowing for about 4 years. My Titan is a 2005. Works great and never had any issues. I do my driveway which is about 100 feet long and the front of my house. I live in New Hampshire so as you know we normally get a lot of snow, however for the past 2 years hardly any large amounts of snow.
