I was told that you could order your truck kinda like you do with the domestics. Now my local dealer says he cannot. Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

You can order any vehicle you want, but more than likely you will have to wait awhile for delivery. Also dealerships try to push their stock on hand to rid them of their dealer lease, as well as dealership searches for the truck and features you exactly want. Most likely they will find the one you try to order at another dealership, but like I said before they are apt to push their inventory first.

Nissan dealers can get any 07 or 08 off another Nissan lot. They have some sort of deal where they can do that. They can't do that with any used vehicles though.

yes you can. I ordered mine. They prefer not to do it because it can take between 30-60 days for it to arrive and prefer the "quick" sale. Don't believe their BS. If they say they can't move on to the next dealership that will.

If you can get a decent price make them order it. Of course they want to sell you something off their lot immediately. But if you are spending $25-$35 thousand smackers, and you can wait 30-45 days for delivery, get EXACTLY what you want. It is worth it.

I thought you still had to work withing the package deals. Or can you get any combination that you want?

I'm looking to replace my '06 Silverado next summer. The Tundra is probably out because you can't get a DC Limited with an 8 foot bed (no leather). My local Nissan dealer assures me you can "order" whatever you like, BUT you have to buy the Nissan packages. That is, if you want Satellite Nav, you MUST get the sunroof (I think). Likewise, you can only get side curtain airbags with the DVD player in the CC. A lousy system, IMO, but at least you can get a long bed in LE trim. I don't like things shoved down my throat I don't need or want (would like the air bags but would never use the rear seat DVD).

I ordered mine through the Fleet Manager at Tustin Nissan . It took around 6 weeks for delivery. No hassle from dealer at all.

Yes and no. You can order it the way you want it but you'll have to wait until that particular truck is built....or located at another dealer. Nissan doesn't, not have they ever, actually built to order like some domestics.

I worked with a dealer who made this happen.

I was looking for a specific model/color/options that didn't exist anywhere out west.

We agreed on a price ($500 below invoice)...no deposit, no contract...and then they ordered the truck during their monthly order.

Truck showed up, gave 'em a check and walked.

Glad I went this route and got what I wanted (and avoided paying for things I didn't).

Also lucked out, since Nissan changed their available configurations in '06...making even more restrictions on the trucks with bench seats.
