2 months ago, my Service Engine Soon light came on so I had the cat converter replaced. I noticed that my truck has been leaking for at least the last 3 weeks. In addition, the oil gage drops to L when I am at a stop and shoots up to the middle when I accelerate. I've never noticed it doing this before. I'm a non-mechanic who has no clue how the cat converter relates to the engine other than the fact the Service Engine Soon light resulted in me getting a new cat converter. I always do a little research before I turn my truck into the Service Department so that I sort of sound like I know what I'm talking about so.....

Question: When they replaced the Cat Converter, is it possible that a part was not put back or was left loose? If so, what part(s) are suspect?

Thanks for any info you can offer.

If they were replaced at the dealer then take it back to them. There is a 12 month 12000 mile warranty on all parts & labor.

UPDATE: Need to replace Engine Oil Cooler....and surprise, they do not make repair kits for the Titan so I need to have the entire assembly replaced even though it's just the seals that are bad. Questioned service rep on the expected lifespan of engine oil cooler. He says they usually see them leaking at about 40-50k miles but once they replace them, "we never see them come back". Now, how much sense does that make?! So, does $820 sound about right to install a new Engine Oil Cooler assy...dealer price?

Thanks to all who reply!
