Ok so i was really bored yesterday and came up of the idea to turn my Center Console into a ice chest. took some pics for you guys to check it out.

First i took out the 3 bolts out of the bottom and removed the other 3 holding the arm rest door on. then i pulled 2 more bolts out that were under the little plugs on the top.

Then drilled a hole in the floor with a 1/4 in drill bit for the rubber hose to drain out to under my truck.

After that i had to cover the 3 holes in the bottom with some homemade plugs made out of sheet metal and glued them on with weatherstripping glue.

Then drilled a hole in the bottom of the console box and had a little threaded brass fitting that i ground down and glued in in.

Waited for everything to dry and put it all back together

The hardest part was lining up the rubber tube to go through the floor cause its double wall steel on the floor so you have to keep trying till you get it lined up perfect and check under the truck to see if you can see the tube coming out i used another brass fitting to stick in the rubber hose at the end coming out of the truck

Now ADD ICE AND SOME DRINKS AND YOU GOT A WORKING ICE CHEST FOR YOUR TRUCK

I like it a lot better than redbull. I mix the Jager and Rockstar about 50/50 though. Most people dont like it the way I do lol. I dont think its the sugar thats bad for your heart, I think its all the other crap along with the fact that one is an upper and one is a downer.

i think if you drink jager by choice the only appropriate mix is a 50/50.. people usually smell mine and say "jesus christ" which means i made it right... i'll give rockstar a shot...

Haha. Sounds just like me. I used to drink it with redbull but have never looked back since I tried it with rockstar.
very cool ill have to do it also for road trips
Now all we need is a write up for how to drain the "biker buddy" through the floor on those long road trips.

LOL
shoot just lean over and go in the center console and wash it down with some water hahah
thats prolly one of the coolest mods i've seen
this is just one of those, wtf why didnt i think of that things. mad props
Necessity is the mother of invention
Nice job
Another solution would be to go build a dry cooler by insulating the center console and install thermoelectric cooling modules, like what is used with 12 volt coolers. Modules could be mounted on the lid or sides.

I was actually thinking the same thing, you could very easily tap into the cigerette lighter in the back of the console for power without exposing any wires...

G-damnnn

someone PLEASE do this!!!!!!!!!!!!
i want it so bad
but all the big words scare me from trying :jester:
I started to do it today. I figured what a better+ easier way to close the old factory screw holes than to duct tape the outer side of the removable black bin and put some sort of super glue. i used gorilla glue. it didnt dry though so i have to wait for that until tomorrow. One suggestion though. Specify where exactly to drill the hole. That was the only part i was confused about. That and the fact that the rubber matting on the bottom of the center console is removable. My dumb --- started to cut it with a razor blade. Im excited though to finish. stay posted until tomorrow for pics. Ill put up some nc17 pictures. hhaha:futwice:
In the words of that chick on Napolean Dynamite "I want that". Killer mod!!!!
i seemed to have partied a bit too hard last night and woke up hung over at 3 p.m. so i didnt get started until about 5:00 the glue just about finished drying. Everything is fine now but the only thing i am worried about is that little 1/4" slippin through the hole i drilled. If that happened my truck would be smellin like a DMV after about a week
It isn't the sugar in the redbull that makes your heart explode.....

How about trying a mini kegerator next??
anyone willing to help me do the fridge mod?
next time your in Oceanside hit me up and i can help you... i made it all up ahahh
