I bought my truck used from the dealer, took it home and realized that there was no spare!!! Took it back and they gave me a matching steel spare (XE), but I have since upgraded to the 18" LE five spokes. Am I going to have a problem since my spare is still the 17? I wonder if it is that different....

wtf, i just searched this out after i saw that my spare is a 17" when I have 18" on the truck. I was curious as to why those wheels looked SOOO new with new rims and tires. ****tty 17" steel rim that's not even the right size tire. going to have to contact the dealer on this.

Yep, they started doing that in 07. UNLESS you bought a 07 offroad package 4wd like ME, then you would still get the 17 offroad rim for the spare. I knew that before I bought mine, so I was happy that I was still able to get one . From what I seen personally and heard on the forums, not all 07 were outfitted the same, some came with the matching aluminum rim and others came with the steel rim.

Take another look. I have the PRO-4X with 18" alloys and they gave me a steely as a spare BUT....it's still a matching tire on an 18" rim. I'd be very surprised to hear you had a different size altogether. If you do, go back to the dealer ASAP.

it sounds like your dealer swapped wheels from a 07 xe. If you do have an pro4-x then you better take that sucker in quick because if you get a flat front tire you will have to remove 2 wheels in order to use that spare because it won't fit over the front brakes on an 08!

I searched this link out because I was miffed that I had a mismatch allow spare. I have the Texas Popular package on my 06 SE. I recenlty had spare rotated to the ground and got home to notice it was an allow, but powder coated grey, rather than chrome like my other four. One would think this would be a image problem for Nissan. Dont they want their product to look good out on the streets where its most veiwed. I asked dealer, they responded with " Your lucky, it is supposed to be steel."

I bought a used alloy wheel to use as a spare but it didn’t come with the tire pressure sensor. I called dealer to buy another sensor but they were not sure if it is possible to program a fifth sensor into the system. In other words, if they added one TPS, the limit may be four so a TPS on an existing wheel may no longer be recognized by the trucks tire pressure system.

Anyone know if five wheels can be programmed into the trucks Tire Pressure System?

Thanks!

It can only handle 4 sensors. But you can put a 5th sensor on the spare so that you can then use the spare in your tire rotation if you want and not have to swap it from another wheel. You will, however, have to have the dealer program it when you decide to use it.
