I replaced my 3'' blocks with 4'' blocks and i had serious vibration issues afterwards. I went to check the ujoints that connects the shafts. I read some peoples bearings were shot so that was causing it. Well 2 of the 4 bolts towards the front and 1 on the side towards the rear weren't even hand tight. I literally unscrewed it by hand.(this is on the front shaft) So when you have time get under your truck with a 9/16 wrench (i believe) and just check to make sure they are all snug. Well apparently i had the blocks backwards causing the drive shaft to get in a bind. When installing blocks put the longer side towards the back and the shorter side in front so it allows the axel to rotate up so it's straight. Hope i'm not the only idiot that made that mistake ha.....

I'm tired from fishing today so perhaps my brain isn't firing on all cylinders. Shouldn't the tall end of the block be towards the front of the truck to _reduce_ the angle of the axle compared to the driveshaft?

That will rotate it down some.

Ah, I knew I was forgetting something. The leaf springs are on the top. It makes more sense now that I've had a night's sleep.

Lubecakes is right, since its taller it will push the axle down causeing more of an angle. The shorter side will allow the axle to rotate up.
