Looking for some guidance. Used CRC intake cleaner and followed instructions. While adding the cleaner, it tripped check engine light and after I let it sit and drove on highway it remained on. Assuming issue was bad air fuel level while adding cleaner. Will it clear on it’s own or need to be reset manually? Have a 2018 sv with 20k. Thanks
Has anyone else had a CEL after doing a CRC chemical clean? I'm thinking of doing mine after talking to the dealer and they said it would be over 400 bucks to clean intake and throttle body...plus extra to reset the IAC (I think it was the IAC....re-set something after cleaning). No this isn't a walnut blast job, just some "special" dealer chemical. Obviously I don't buy the BS....I suspect they just use a CRC-type product.
How/where did you put the chemicals in the truck? If you don't have a code reader, a local parts store perhaps. Then you can report back the code and we can go from there.
Cel is typical as products like this cause it to run rough for a few. It will go away on its own. If it bothers you, take negative battery cable off, count to 15, touch the neg cable to metal, then reattach. The Cel will be cleared.
