I put on chrome door handle caps 5 years ago and want to take them off now. Has anyone done this? Will the black handles underneath look like crap or will they look ok? Was wondering if there would be permanent stains or glue?

Are you talking about the aftermarket stick on chrome covers, or did you swap out the handles altogether? If they are the stick ons, you should be able to clean the adhesive off without damaging the original handle.

Should be no big deal. Peel them off, use a mild adhesive remover to clean up left over residue like "Goof Off" or something similar that won't damage plastic.

I took them off after buying mine used that pretty sure been on for 5 yrs with some fishing line and goof off cleaner no problem. a lil polish and good as new
