Are you sure they never twitched before or maybe you didnt pay close attention before?
My truck has done it since it has been new, and i have had 2 clusters. I always figured it was a "self reset". Is the groan sound coming from the gauges or the dash? Our trucks (at least the old ones, dont know about the newer ones) close the vents off when the truck is turned off. I can hear mine close if i stay in the truck after i take out the key.
Not saying that this is the same symptoms you are experiencing, but just wanted to let you know that i have experienced them personally and have wrote them off as normal.
