Coil spring size difference

84001 Views 185 Replies 30 Participants Last post by  mrsxxx1
I've recently read here on TT that the 2008+ Titans have taller front springs than their older siblings ... and installing them in the 04-07 Titans would raise up the front. I have a few questions for the suspension pros: :dunno:

1. Are the Pro-4X springs any different in height than the 08+?
2. How much taller are the 08+ springs over the older ones?
3. When the 08+ springs are installed with the Bilstein 5100 set at mid-setting, how many inches of height is achieved?

Thanks in advance

They will work fine on a 4600, but being that you are 2wd they are going to give you more lift. These springs usually give the 2wd guys around 2.5" - 3" of lift.
That's perfect. Thinking of raising mine up about that much, raising the shackle back to stock, and putting some AT's on. That should put me very close to level. :)

Sounds like a great plan! RockAuto is the best place to get them I think they are something like $70-$80 shipped for a pair. Are you going to keep the street style and add a/t's or do you have something crazy planned?

Well, for now, just lifted enough for some bigger tires. Will I need new UCA's you think?

Nope. They will work great on 4600's. You won't need uca's because you aren't adding length to the strut assembly. You will obtain lift by preload, this will allow you to run factory uca's fine. Only thing you may want to add after the springs is cam bolts if you don't have them. I know my 06 didn't have them. You may be able to sneak by without them but they will get your alignment perfect instead of close and save those purty new at's. lol What tires/size are you looking at and are you going to retain your current wheels?

Good deal, saves me $250. :) Eh, haven't picked out tires yet, but I'm looking at a set of Enkei's ST6, 20x9.5, +20mm. Hoping I can get a nice fat 305 in there without trimming too much. ;)

Nooooo!! Don't lift it, then I'm just gonna have to drop it again when I buy it from you.

A 305/55-20 would go perfect with that lift and those wheels. You shouldn't need to do the pwm either maybe a slight bit of liner reshaping. I would suggest the toyo at2's myself. I love mine and they have great road manors. In the size I mentioned they will have a nice aggressive look because they will come in the xtreme sidewall and tread design. Here are a couple pics of my 325's I had.

Lol, why?! It's a tiny lift, basically stock for a Pro4. Lmfao!

After going back and forth on this for the last week I decided to try this out. Just ordered the 5100's for the front, lift springs from 4x4parts.com, Deaver C-10 AAL and 5125 Rear Billys. Still thinking about the UCA's from Ebay...

because ive been considering doing a more street look with different rims, and a clean tire that fits the wheel wells.

Woohoo, big changes for both of us. ;) Looking at tire prices makes me remember why lifted guys have a spring loose. Geeez... I'll be saving up for an eternity! :(

yeah 20" tires aren't cheap in the 33" range or higher. tread depot dot com seems to be one of the cheaper places to find them. Not sure if you checked them out or not but the cooper zeon ltz is another sweet look a/t.

I took a video of the left front suspension that has the Bilstein 5100 + 08 Moog 4x4 springs + ebay UCAs. Took it on smooth roads and a parking lot with tons of speed bumps. Rear suspension "CLUNKS" because it still has the old 5100 with the Deaver C-10. Bilstein 5125 are on order and awaiting delivery.

Great video, I'm running the same setup except with the Billy's on the second perch and stock uca's.

Thank you gentlemen. From the way the video looks like ... the UCA's were not a "must". I could have gotten away with the stock UCA. But modding is like an addiction ... we don't know how much we want and never know if and when the urge ever ends

Just got the Ebay UCA's in the mail today, let me just say these babies are HUGE. Welds look solid, I am very impressed. I can't imagine there is a large difference between these and a $700 pair. Can't wait to get them on once the rest of the lift arrives

This thread gave good helpful tips during my install of these eBay UCAs: http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-suspension/45419-installation-total-chaos-arms.html#post642537

and trimming of the rear bushing for easy fit: http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-suspension/45419-installation-total-chaos-arms.html#post815558
