So I keep hearing this clunking noise on the front passenger side and thought it was normal for the radflos to make noise... I look in the wheel well and see a little ring around the axle shaft... come to find out the lower spring perch, (where the spring rests), is nicking the axle shaft... the drivers side has no problem with the clearance but the passenger side c/o for some reason sits closer to the axle shaft... Should I unbolt the c/o from the LCA and rotate the spring? Is that even possible to do? Any help would be appreciated... It's weird for some reason the drivers side has more clearance but the passenger side sits closer... These were rebuilt 2.5'' extended travel bracket lift radflos from Greg... It seems like when the LCA travels up it is making the axle shaft nick the c/o

My driver's side has almost an inch of space between the half shaft and the coil brace... then I checked my passenger's side and found it about 1/4" away from the coil brace as well, with a visible ring around the halfshaft from occasional rubbing... hhhmmm... Mine's prob getting contact while impacting, but looks to have enough clearance for daily driving purposes... I wonder if the stock 4X4 T's appear the same???

I don't have pictures but I was told to check the spacers on the LCA's shock tab where the shock mounts to it... the retarded shop that installed it might have put the spacers in backwards... taking it in the morning and seeing what they say...

I sent many pics to Greg asking this when I noticed mine and he assured me it was the angle and that the spacers that come on the radflo's are the same length.

I double checked my shock mounts, and the spacers are correct on both, and definitely have less clearance on the passenger side... I'm thinking it's a "factory" flaw that places the shock mount on the LCA at a crap location???

How is everyone just noticing this now? Why didn't anyone else notice this when they put the c/o on? Or did people know it and not come forward with it? lol

I have heard and seen this problem on the Titan. On our stock replacement Titan lower arms we made many improvements to the lower arm including moving the shock mount out away from the axle to gain more clearance on the 4wd vehicles.

Here is our lower arm.

Here is our Titan Replacemadement LCA on an Xterra doing a Titan swap retaining 4wd.

Nick, I got the same freakin' issue. I live just north of you in Orange County, California. I assume you are located in San Diego. I would love to give the forum a before and after pictures to help sell your LCA. Please PM me.

Here are my details:

2007 Titan 4x4
PRG UCA (about a 1 year old)
Kings Coilovers in front
Radflo shocks in rear
Aftermarket springs in rear (forget the name)

Symptom:

The driver-side is about .25-.5 inch closer (from axle to lower shock tower) than the passenger side. I can slide my fingers between the passenger side but cannot on the drivers side.

The lower Kings shock tower is shaved of the blue. On the drivers side, the lower shock is also scuffed a little.

If your LCA fixes it (I have no doubt as I love your stuff), then this will be a great addition to the PRG UCA.

regards

P.S. I can post pictures too

I have the SAW coilovers and I have zero axle shaft contact. The spacers come in two sized for the SAW coilovers and you have to make sure you put the larger one on the rear and the smaller one on the front.

HRTKD is correct. Few years back when I installed my SAWs I notice the different size bushings and was obvious what it was for.

This is exactly what happened to mine and Robert aka Aquaholic caught it. There is a misalignment spacer at the bottom of the coilover that if flipped, will cause contact.

Hmm, I wonder if PRG Products provided custom spacers or if SAW includes them with the coilovers that way.

The spacer would have to mount the bottom of the shock outside the two tabs - not within the two tabs. The bottom of the shock is so thick there is really no room to offer some tab offset - at least that I have seen (read: no expert here).

I have the dealer installing the new Dirt King LCAs. They will be finished tomorrow. Will post pictures soon.
