hello everyone. i am looking to upgrade the suspension on my 12 titan 4wd. currently have 1.5in spacers. i want to achieve a 3in lift. i was originally gonna look at bilstein setup but i am also open to coilovers. honestly, i just want a smooth ride. my truck is a daily driver. i have a 7month old that will ride in the truck. i do not off-road. i will upgrade the UCA and put a 1.5 rear block in the back. how would a set up from fox, radflo or icon be in comparison to bilstein? will i just be fine with bilstein or is the investment that much better into coilovers for what i am trying to achieve?

Coilovers should give you a much better ride over the Bilsteins. You'll have to set the Bilsteins at 1" or get a bigger spacer. Mine are at 1" with a 2" spacer in front, 1" block in the back and it still rides like a tank. Took my sway bar off and that helps, but it's still a tank.

As for your 7 month old, my 2 month old falls asleep almost immediately after I start the truck. I think the bumps help him to get there along with the exhaust rumble .

Go with extended travel Kings with whatever uppers you want, DK, PRG, CJD.

Kings will ride the most plush without having to take them apart and tune them.

Icon's will be stiffer (digressive valving)

Fox 2.5's won't get you 3" of lift. nor do they have a plush on road ride, they're best off road in the big hits. (i ran them for a year)

Radflo's clunk.

Get the Kings with DirtKing uppers and don't look back. Hit up Mike at OffroadWarehouse or Chas at TAP.

I would go with ICON or King Shocks with Extended travel, UCA's are a MUST to steer clear of the Coil Buckets... PM or email me [email protected] ORW is DIRECT with KING, ICON, FOX, and Radflo and will offer the BEST pricing.

thanks for the options guys. its tough picking out the right setup. i dont know if coils are the best way to go?!? bilsteins?!? then there is the opinion of, the amount you spend for a 2.5-3in lift, you can do a 6in lift?!? will coils be overboard for what i am trying to achieve?!?

Don't forgot a cheap bracket lift just retains your factory struts and adds a large spacer. Coilovers are a different ball game. Granted you can add bracket lift coilovers to the mix but that adds quite a bit of money on top of the initial bracket lift cost. In the end it comes down to what your goals and budget are. If you have a child I would really hate the hassle of a child seat with a massive amount of lift. Lol. Just some food for thought. If it were me and I had the money I would go either king or icons with uca's

ive been on the fence on my suspension. truck has 46000 miles on it. its a 2012 4wd. i originally wanted to do a 6in lift but then had the same concern as you about the baby and the hassle with the baby seat and stuff. then i was just gonna do bilstein shocks with 1.5 spacer up front, 5125 in the read with a 1.5in block and UCA to get me to 3in lift; i read that it rides like ****. then i was thinking of coils but dont know if it is worth the money. will coils with a spacer be a good option. my budget would be to spend under $1500. ideally less for sure.
what are your thoughts?

With bilsteins, spacers, and UCA's (if you go Dirt King cause they're awesome) you're looking at around $900-1000 if you've already got the lift spacers. It doesn't ride like ****, but it's no fluffy cloud. Like I said, that's with Dirt King UCA's which aren't cheap, but well worth the money. Rough Country UCA's will be cheaper.

Coilovers you're probably looking closer to 1200-1500 including UCA's.

what? where? 2.5's run 1100-1800. (aint nobody gonna run 2.0's on a 4x4 titan)
Uppers run 600-650 (if he buys RC uppers just punch yourself in the face)

Yeah, saw the price for 2.0's not 2.5's. So up the price of coilovers and you can get uppers for cheaper than that through forum vendors. At least the bushing UCA's.
