I have been deployed :gunz: for 15 months and I have saved for me a full size truck. I was headed for a F150 until my wife and sister in law stopped me and told me about a good deal. My sister in law works at the nissan plant and she told me that she will let me use her employee voucher to get me a truck. So I have decided to get one of this lovely trucks but I am caught in a hard situation now and maybe some of u can help me out. Okay because she get it for less then invoice price and the great rebates that are on now of 5000 dollars. I am wondering would it be better for me just buy a basic LE model since it has everything on it already buy a SE which is less but add the features that I want on it? I know if I get the LE then I will have fog lights and the works but if i get the le i would start spending money to make it look like a LE so please someone give me some good advice on this subject! Please i am thanking u all in advance:haveredfl !

What options do you NEED to have right from the beginning? What are the WANTS? This will help us price out the correct model for you. Do you have to have the WANTS right this minute or can you wait to buy them latter?

If you pay more monry up front for the truck with easy to add WANTS, than all that $$ comes at the price of compounded interest for the whole term of the loan. If there are pieces you can easily add on latter (like 20"+ rims and fog lights for instance) then you can save your cash for those and then buy them and not have to pay any interest. MAny of these wants are cheaper from online dealers than car dealers and you may have more selections. This is only for cash purchases. If you just turn around and buy those items on a credit card at a higher interest rate than the loan you may not be better off.

My advice - get the options in the truck that you NEED and are not easy to buy and install latter (power windows and locks) and purchase the WANTS (rims) with cash when you save for them.

Also be smart though and Check pricing on each. If a $25K truck comes with 18" rims but a $25.3K truck comes with 20" rims (and you WANT 20s) then buy them now as $300 will not buy 20" rims latter most likely.

Hope that helps.

Look up a loan caculator and calculate the interest you will pay on the WANTS for the term and that amount will be the minimum of WANTS you could have had for the exact same cost (that money could have earned interest). A set of 22" $3000 rims/tires at 4.9 percent will cost you $3469 on a 72 month loan.

Statefarm Loan Calculator

I also recommend looking at used trucks and not paying the depreciation of driving it from the factory/off the lot. A truck with 12K miles will still be pretty much like new from the right seller. Mine was.

First of all welcome back home and for your service in Iraq; second welcome to the forum. I just got a 2008 SE CC 4X4 LWB with Popular package. Fog lamps you can get them from one of the sponsors here for $179 that will have 2 lamps and switch. SE is loaded with everything except leather.

First of all I want to highly commend you for your service to your country , and to your fellow citizens. I want to thank you for putting your life on the line to preserve our freedom. I personally went with the LE because it had most of the goodies I wanted in a truck. I personally would tell you IMO go with the LE. Thanks:cheers:

I had the same question between the LE and SE models. When I added the bed liner/utilitrack option, the tow package, and a few other odds and ends, on the SE, the LE was about $1000-$1500 more than the SE. In real numbers that was the difference of about $10.00 a month in payment or 30 cents a day. That was with an 07. Your best bet is to head out to www.edmunds.com to build and price a number of models and option groups and see how the money works out. Personally, I went with LE as I don't care for cloth seats.

for serving our country and keeping us safe. Too often our veterans don't get the recognition they deserve.
Buy whatever truck you can comfortably afford. Some SE's loaded up cost as much as an LE and without the leather seats. Best of luck with it and enjoy it too.

Welcome home and thank you for your service overseas... and... back in 2006, I looked at the difference in the two as a difference in interior covering, SE - no leather / LE -leather, I also looked around at some of the SE's and they actually came accessorized with what I was looking for so I bought the SE w/ the OEM accesories already installed that I wanted and then completed my "wants" list with better than OEM aftermarket equipment... that was how I came about my decision... if leather interior is what you want, get the LE... if leather isn't preferred, get the SE and find the one that is accessorized with what you want...

Get home safely!
My personal opinion is to buy as much truck as you can afford to, especially with the discount you are going to receive. Then save your money and do what mod's you need down the road.
