A set of the Boston Pro's that tech has on sale would be great and they have a very neutral sound from what I have heard. I love my CDTs and they have plenty of pairs in that range but I think the boston deal tech has going is pretty damn good.
Boston s60 comps use a soft dome tweeter and is very smooth and right at your price range.LandShark said:I looked but found a lot of people recommending the Infinity References. I've had these before and the highs are just too bright for me. I'm not looking to go crazy so the price needs to stay under $200.
I'll have a 4-channel Alpine MRP F-450 powering these and some Alpine Type R coaxials in the rear doors.
Thanks.
Are you guys talking about the BA sx-60's?bighitter said:A set of the Boston Pro's that tech has on sale would be great and they have a very neutral sound from what I have heard. In the price range they are in there are way better choices. Infinity tweeters are very bright, .Some people love this. I do not . I prefer a smooth tweeter . Even the quarts are bright but you can take them 6 db down and they smooth right out. I have never had good luck with tuning cars with infinty comps in it and one of the competition vehicles I tuned weekly for Maggie Crye In El Peso had infintys and it was a nightmare to get it smooth . Music System in El peso did a car audio & electronics cover install on this car and it was just hard to tune because of the comps up front.kgMoto said:"In all honesty Infinity makes some of the worst sounding speakers and subs as does Polk audio and Alpine."
I think thats a little harsh. I'm not an audio "expert" at all, but looking at them as a company and a brand, they didn't get where they are by selling "the worst sounding speakers".
You must have the hearing of a wolf.

The S60's (not SX). I just bought two sets from tech12volt this week and I can't wait to install them. I'm expecting a massive improvement over the stockers.LandShark said:Are you guys talking about the BA sx-60's?
I am sensing some sarcasm there...kgMoto said:A wolf would have *great* hearing - you took it the wrong way.
Poor analogy on my part.
Glad to hear you are liking them bro.GrayB83 said:I got bostons from tech and they sound amazing. Thanks again tech.
I will say this. I have not had to warranty one piece of Boston anything all year long. Subs, amps, comps anythingP-Dizzle said:Anybody have a bad experience with Boston?
