Definately go with the Kicker subs, there are some CVT shallow mounts, one 12" or 2 10" would be great for the KC, if you have limited enclosure space, you can always add polyfil 1/2 full in the box to get that deeper bass your looking for.

Yes, those would be great if you want that much Bass, just be sure to wire the subs correctly, are you using a mono block amp?

What I would do to get all your answers in one swoop, contact Crutchfields Tech Support, they have helped me out in the past, they have alot knowledge and have access to a wide range or resources. They also have a subwoofer fitment guide, for a KC I assume you don't have much space, I actually have a CC so I have a little bit more working room. I would recommend a downfiring enclosure. You can tell if your amp is mono if there is only one set of input out terminals. A mono block will work great with two 2 ohm subs. But give crutchfield a quick call and see what they can tell you, won't hurt any.

It's all really just a matter of taste and what you want and knowing the dynamics of how subwoofers work. If your the type who drives with the windows down all the time and wants the world to hear your bass, use an UF box or FF box, if you want to keep the sound in the cab with the windows down sunroof open, use a DF box

There are alot of tips and tricks for shallow mount subs. Have you ever seen when they put Poly-Fil inside a box or know the reason they do it? It's to trick the subs into thinking there is more air volume inside the box that there really is. The sound waves bounce push through the air space to the back of the box and fire back to the sub and out, this creates the bass. When there is small space, it's quicker to bounce and gives you more of a HIT/SHAKE sensation instead of that DEEEP Vibration and sound. With the polyfil, it takes longer for the sound waves to reach the back of the box tricking the sub into thinking there is more space to travel through.
