I have a 2008 2wd , 147,000 miles , are my exhaust manifolds just living on borrowed time?
Nissan never cured this?
I put a new O ring in the oil cooler yesterday , this afternoon I looked under there and there was a drip hanging off the cooler housing, just
like before I put in the new O ring . :mad:

pretty much all of them are going to crack at some point, however oil dripping from the o ring has nothing to do with cracked manifolds.

My '07 was ten years old and had 165,000 miles and never had cracked manifolds. Lots of other stuff broke, but not those.

It really depends on how those miles were driven. Lots of normal, day to day driving will cause them to crack faster because of the heating/cooling cycles undergone by the engine and exhaust. But for the most part, yes, no one is really safe from cracked manifolds.

Make sure you've really cleaned up the oil on the cooler good and just keep an eye on it. I just did this job a week ago and the first two days I also saw a drop of oil hanging there, even after I wiped it. Turns out I must just not have gotten up all the oil, because I checked it yesterday after driving all day and it was bone dry (and so was the little oil filter drain trough).

As for the exhaust manifolds, yes you are on borrowed time. They all crack eventually. If you don't mind changing out the originals every 50k miles you can go that route, or you can go the header route.
