Recently put a 6" spindle/spacer lift on the truck and 34" tires. I first thought the tires were rubbing when I heard the creaking noise when I'm either standing still or slowly driving turning the steering wheel. Anyone else notice this on there lifted trucks?

That is the sound of your power steering telling you "PLEASE NO!!!". My previous truck was lifted, and I can tell you from experience that turning your wheels with big heavy tires while your truck is not moving is the best way to earn yourself a new rack and pinion when your current one fails. Search the forum and you will see there are alot of people with lifted Titans who had their rack and pinion blow up. My advice would be to avoid turning the wheel while you are stopped from now on, unless of course you are made of money and can afford a new $600 rack and pinion every 6 months.

well i hear 2 different sound i just finished letting a guy listen also .. There is a faint creeking sound (which is the steering) and there is another sound different that is louder sounds like something is hitting but doesnt sound like my steering. Tires arent rubbing. Il figure out what it is just was wondering if anyone else get similar noise. Thnx for posting though. It very well could be the rack and pinion..

Do you still have your sway bar on? The sway bar bushings tend to make a loud creek when they are worn out. This was very noticable for me when I would hit a speed bump going slowly.

i am having same issue, i have sway away coils with some preload and 275/70/18 tires and recently noticed squeeking only when i turn the steering wheel at low speed or sitting still, got my steering rack checked its fine, replaced sway bar bushings and got some prg sb endlinks and its still there, annoying, but i do believe it is the sb bushings because of poor design when you tighten them they pull apart at the split and dont "seal" around sway bar so i figure thats the problem-i just ordered some from infinity for qx56 that are designed different and look like they fit way better.

i believe i found the problem.. the bolt you see in the pic i posted above isnt flush to the spindle. That bolt isnt a stock bolt since my bro in law striped the threads in the oem bolt. This one apparently isnt going to work.

The fix was the oem bolt that connects to the lower control arm/lower ball joint and spindle. No more creaking sounds... wew
