My son has 4” CTS Performance Suspension lift on his 2009 titan. For some reason it is making a squeaking noise coming from the driver’s side of the truck. I used a can of WD-40 to locate where the squeak was coming from. My son was pushing the front end up and down while I started spraying the lube starting at the lower end of the suspension lift. The squeak stopped after spraying the top portion of the lift. The spray lube worked for about a week. Any have this kind of problem before? What would cause the suspension to squeak?

It's hard to tell exactly where you sprayed. It looks like the upper control arm, which I see is stock. Could be the uca bushings or upper ball joint. Dirt king is doing a group buy that could solve your problem. I dont believe you can get uca bushings for stock arms.

For what it's worth, WD-40 isn't a lubricant in the sense of what you're using it for. It will dry out, and the squeak will come back, which it did. You can get spray lithium grease to put there and it'll last much longer. Downside is the grease will collect dirt.

Front end shop would have the ball joints, but it's hard to tell from the picture what you actually sprayed.

if its the ball joint on the stock upper control arm, its easier and more cost effective to just replace the entire arm.

OR get into contact with Nick at Dirt King Fabrication, he has a "group buy" (cheaper price for a run of upper control arms) going on right now. You'll get way more clearance, way more strength, and it'll perform great with those coil overs that the truck looks to have.

Installing new upper control arms is a driveway project. its straightforward, but the driver side can be a huge pain in the butt.

I doubt it was the stock UCA bushings. They are the quietest bushings you can get, unless they're torn.

It is very hard to tell what you sprayed based on the picture. It looks like you are pointing at the coil bucket behind the spindle? Only things in the coil bucket I can think of that may cause a squeak are the: coil over heims (or bushings), or the upper coil spring isolator.

If you are talking about the ball joint to cst spindle interface as the thing that got sprayed / lubed then it would be tough to actually get WD-40 into the ball joint. For that my guess would be that the rubber boot on the ball joint is rubbing on the metal casting on the spindle causing a squeak. I'm not sure that anything other then a good cleaning will help. Although I am thinking of a crazy idea for a thin delrin ball joint shim that could go between the rubber boot and the spindle. So you'd have rubber to delrin to metal, which would be much quieter then rubber on metal.
