anyone ever taken a in bed tool box thing and installed a 10 with a couple of 6x9's in it so that u can have some music while your in the desert?

seems like a good idea to me, but i would have to find a way to make it removable, because u cant have that out on the streets lol jacked sooo fast.

any ideas??

i've thought about doing something like that with the utili-track tool box. however it makes a much better beer cooler.:cheers:

On a serious note however. I've given this some thought, and the utili-track box would be perfect for a small simple setup. Somewhat like some guys have in install shops. At least 2 6x9's and a spot to mount a head unit. Then you could probably power it with the outlet in the bed. (If you have one)

I might have to take a look, but you could probably make it a plug-and-play operation with that outlet. And using the utili-track box will make it easy to put in and take out.

Doubtful, check the rating on that outlet, none too high. A set up like yall are talking about would fry wires/fuses in no time.

I saw a setup that was built inside of a cooler. More portable than something built into a toolbox. It was pretty cool I guess. Ghetto fabulous. If I want sound in the desert, just turn the truck on and open the doors. Or....Play it from the POS system in the toyhauler lol.

tech12volt posted a thread about marine audio... in that thread i suggested something similar to what you are talking about. i'm sure you could probably get a few kick boxes or something built for the bed of your ride.. make it a true tailgating machine.

why not do something permanent that is legit and then just have a tonneau cover that locks? just pop it open and ur in for some good sound.. my .02

so it would be gone pretty damn quick.. but they all like me so maybe i could buy it back from them
