Installed brand new rear axle assembly in April, now had a seal blow on same DS rear axle in my 2007 Titan LE- not sure if this was due to poor install procedure or something of the like but at any rate removed axle yesterday to fix seal and found bearing totalled as well.
My dad came down to provide me with a makeshift slide hammer as inner race stuck in housing, while I was going to town with that, he decided to “help” me by cutting off the spacer thing that sits behind the bearing as well as the remaining race on the axle. (Even though I have a friggin press that I bought for doing this stuff properly🙄) long story short. He cut/gouged a huge-enough-to-me 3/4” by over 1/4” i would say, at the deepest point, mark into the 3mo old, basically new Axle, right in around where the bearing will sit. am I screwed? What kind of problems can/will this cause me trying to use as is? How can I rigger it to try to fix if it’s not ok to use as is??
I am new to the forum so not sure if allowed to post pics or not but can try if I am. And will take some.
Thanks to any and all respnoses and advice

Also sorry to double up on this thread but while I’m at it, there is significant damage inside the housing where the shaft sits, this was from prior to installing the new axle assembly as previous owner was basically riding on the axle shaft itself, the bearing was blown apart and all over the place inside the housing, there is lots of gouges in there and it looks like sh$t. Could this be why the bearing and seal lasted less than 3mos?
