I put alpine tweeters in place of mine in my 06. I had to make adapter from a little sheet metal and factory clips. Came out great they were WAY better than factory. Cheap too as I remember I don't think they were expensive, but as with anything you skies the limit on price.

Yes you can se the Oem speaker as a guild to build mounting plates and install a nice tweeter. I have Focal to 51s in my 10 kc (work truck) and PPI AMT tweeters in my 08 CC.

Those should work. I would be weary about ordering on Amazon. If they aren't an authorized on line Alpine dealer they will not have a warranty..

If the price is right on Amazon I wouldn't worry too much about warranty. I have always found alpine to be pretty reliable. Every pair of their speakers I have had out lasted the vehicle. I don't know if you will need the crossover. Mine did not come with one, but I think there is a factory one. There may have been one built into my tweeters though.

Thankfully they come with a 2-year warranty with Amazon for like $5. Also, I wasn't able to find a set without those crossovers, and am not the most audio-savvy guy, how would I know if the crossovers are absolutely needed? I didn't install an amp or anything, just been running everything off the factory system.

Thanks

You should use the crossovers. The OEM driver is larger so it will play lower. The factory crossover may be to low for those, if there is an OEM crossover. It may just be a capacitor on the dash speakers. I can't remember

They're installed and working great!! Tip to anyone doing this in the future: when you take the dash speaker grills off, don't bother trying to save those 4 back plastic pins. Far more hassle than they're worth, just pull them up a little and cut them!

They arnt so bad if you have a small fork tool to pull them.. Actually now that you mentioned it, I think I used a flat blade screwdriver under the stock speaker and prayed it up and used the speaker to remove them...
