Hey guys,

2015 Nissan Titan SV 4x4 crew cab 10k miles
Took into dealership for free oil change, and shop monkey hit the side of the shop door when pulling my truck into the shop. ::crying::
Running board and entire drivers side bed panel needs replaced.
Service manager has been excellent to deal with, and has offered to throw in some accessories for my trouble.
Of course I would like to take him up on his offer, but not sure what to get.
Stupid me didnt get the exact truck I wanted; really wanted the option that had the utilitrack, power tow mirror, etc...
I understand the utilitrack is not easy to add, but how about the tow mirror?
I already have a power mirror and heated rear window, just not the big heated tow mirror.
Will the tow mirror plug into the existing wiring harness? And work off of the rear window defroster button?
Also, my old Titan had a rear view mirror with some buttons on it. I would like to add that too, mainly for the garage door opener button.
Will this fit right in?
What else should I ask for?

If it were me, I would try and get out of a truck your were never 100% initially satisfied with. Have the dealer eat the depreciation/damage of your truck, and you pay for the T&T on something new. It's worth a shot. Just my 2c. Good luck and sorry for your troubles.

Ditto...
See what you can do about them getting you into another truck with what you want on it... they should give you a hell of a deal just to keep this story off the interwebs or at least make it a have a happy ending...

OK guys, so tried to work out a deal on a new truck.
Just too much money.
They wanted my truck plus ~$14k for a SL.
Or ~$11k for a loaded up SV.
Or keep my truck and they give me $1k.
I took the money!
So now I want to put that money into my truck, since there are some options I wished I would have gotten.

1. Tow mirrors. Reading some threads and it seems I can swap mine out in a couple of hours. And since I have a rear heated window, the new mirrors heat function will work off that switch? Thinking about buying these:

2. Utilitrak. Reading some good threads on this and it seems it is not easy to add. Will probably do something generic. Any suggestions?

3. Rear view mirror with homelink. Really miss the garage door and gate opener buttons on my old 08 titan. Would like to add that mirror to my 15 Titan. Looks like there may be a power wire? Can I just pull that from one of the interior dome lights? Any body have any success adding this mirror?

4. Bed cap. Looking at various styles but havent made up my mind yet. Open to suggestions!

Thanks guys!!

Terrible deal! had someone have less damage than you and the dealer offered them something stupid also like a few free oil changes and 500 bucks. The guy was non confrontational and said he didn't know what to do, he was going to ask for his lawyers advice. They ended up just GIVING him a new truck. he just had to pay to transfer his tag. I wouldn't have believed the story if I didn't see the buyers order myself when he brought it into the dmv.

No one is going to give him a new truck! Really? Is that what happens if you get in an accident? Do they give you a new vehicle because yours would be depreciated from the repair? Negative. Unless you are in the vehicle and have some real or imagined personal injury, you are going to get the vehicle repaired. No one, lawyer involved or not, is going to give you a new vehicle. The $ was a bonus, but yourself some accessories and enjoy your truck.

With it being relatively new, it's been done. The dealership writes it off as a loss and/or utilizes it within their fleet for business purposes. That's one of the purpose's for carrying high liability insurance coverage.

goodbye resale value.the issue here is the did NOT use authentic Nissan parts. They use aftermarket as the insurance only pays for that! The fact is they wrecked it. There is a law that protects you from such loss which the insurance company will not share. Again, you need to contact a lawyer. You may be out thousands! Your resale valuse has tanked to that of one 5-8 years older via carfax. Either listen to me or like the get raped! That is your choice. I will not post again on this topic.

Did you get $1k in addition to them fixing the damage, or do you have to go to your insurance co. for repair?

There is an insurance law around 'diminished value' and you may want to look into claiming it through their insurance company. Your vehicle, as mentioned before, now has a diminished market value at no fault of your own. You should be able to work with your insurance company to file a claim with the dealers insurance for diminished value compensation. My wifes old car was hit 3 times in the 12 years we had it. Each time we filed a diminished value claim with our insurance company who received payment from the individual who caused the crashes insurance companies. Each time we got a check for roughly 30-40% of the total cost of the repairs. Cash money. On top of getting our car fixed.
