Could someone with a G2 Titan try this and report back for me?

Turn on your defroster and then turn the AC button off and let me know if it continues to pump AC'ed air on the windshield.

Then turn the selector to any non-windshield defrost and see if the AC compressor continues to run, with the AC button turned off?

I ask because on my '04, once you turn on the defroster there is no way to turn off the AC compressor. The only way to do this is to make sure the selector is not on defrost, shut the truck down, and start it up again. Something I really don't like doing while rolling down the road.

That and on cool mornings, I like fresh air mixing with the cabin air on the windshield and as I said, once you turn on the fan in the defrost setting, even if you turn off the AC and the light goes out, the compressor continues to run.

Thanks!

I know with my 2011, the compressor runs with the defroster, but cuts off if I switch to any other setting, unless the AC button is switched on. Sounds like you have a faulty switch or something.

And if you're driving an 04, you don't need someone with a G2 Titan to help you. G2 started last year. Unless you're asking if the G2 does this because you're thinking about buying one. Just check it on the test drive. But it sounds like your 04 has a bad switch to me.

Are you sure? I checked a few and even when you "turn off" the AC, the light goes out but the compressor continues to run. Maybe Nissan figured it out.

If it happens on the G2's, then it will happen on all the new Titans and that "little" think is enough to make me not want to buy another Nissan. (My wife's Juke has a full computerized HVAC system, which I really don't like very much but all new vehicles have gone in that direction.)

I assumed Nissan kept the same software(?) in all the G1 Titans. If it is an upgrade, I would like know if I can have it done on my '04.
