So I started hearing a rattling in my truck today, and I thought it sounded like a body panel, so I popped the hood. I shook a few things around and it all seemed fine, but then I grabbed hold of the radiator support and gave it a little tug. It was way looser than it should be, especially on the passenger side. looked a little closer and found out that where the radiator support connects to the fender support on the passenger side I guess it had vibrated enough to completely snap off a hole where the rad support bolts go in. They would not loosen up to pull out because the welded-on nut on the fender support would just spin. So I got to get out my welder to fix it up.
Attached pic is with the paint still wet.
On a side note, I thought taking the headlights off a Dodge was bad, these things sure are apain to take out. Is every clip designed to break upon removal?
p.s. - I know if I ever have to replace the radiator support I will have to cut it off, but I can cross that bridge when I get there, if ever...
