I am curious also. I just bought my truck, so how to you tell the difference?
I would have to say .5? I don't think they do half years.

not sure about the difference but on the nissan website they have it as the 2008.5 Nissan Titan. They never had a 2007.5, 2006.5... etc so maybe it does have some changes.

oh and someone already made a thread with the same question, although nothing was really answered in it either. Someone said there were different financing offers between the 2008 and 2008.5

*edit* seems like XE's are back to color matched front bumper.
I'd like to know also. I was buying my '04 the other day and the salesman showed me the '08's and the '08.5's. He said the only difference was "cosmetic". I'm not so sure since they were offering $2,500 cash back on the '08.5's and $4,000 back on the '08's. Therefore, I think there must be something significantly different. By the way, the window sticker clearly read "'08.5" on the newer ones.
From what I understand the .5 model xe will no longer have the off colored front ends, that was about the only ting I have read although it may be wrong.
They have the old 18" rims from the 07 and before LE on the 08.5 XE's.
I read somewhere that the 08.5 model has no Transmission fill/check tube or any way at all to check the level of your transmission fluid.
I was at the dealer on Monday and the salesperson mentioned it to me. He said there is a step in (or on) the the rear bumper to make it easeir to get in the back of the truck. I'm sure there's some other things too, but I didn't see one for myself.:dunno:
The 2008.5 Titan includes minor equipment and packaging changes, including the addition of a body-color grille on Titan XE models, the addition of heated mirrors and microfilter to Titan PRO-4X Leather Package and a leather-wrapped steering wheel to the Titan SE Popular Package.

Those are all available on the 08 as well. The leather wrapped steering wheel is standard on the SE. You're saying it now has to be gotten with the popular package?
i heard the 08.5 came out just because the step assist on the back bumper was a late arrival option only on 08.5

According to Nissan, it's a stand alone option that can be added to any Titan for $225.

Anything to save a friggin' buck I guess!
2008.5 has a $2500 Rebate. 2008 has $4500 Rebate. Both qualify for the additional $500 holiday cash reabate. For $2000 extra, Nissan Better be throwing couple of beautiful models of my choosing as part of the deal.

With that said, I am interested in the new optional step and would like to see if it is something I can add to the truck this coming summer.
As far as rebates, perhaps it depends on your region. Yesterday, I purchased a 2008.5 SE CC 4X4 and received the $4500 plus the $500. The 2008s, SE CC 4X4, I looked at had the same rebate.

The only difference is the rebate of course and the 08.5 has a chrome piece on the tailgate and the step to make it easier to get in the back. Probably for the women drivers. Makes you wonder why anyone would buy the 08.5 and get the smaller rebate. To each there own I geuss:rolleyes:

I have an 2008.5 it has the fill tube, and by the way I got the rebate $4500 + $500 holiday bonus

Yeah they sure do I own a 2008.5 Nissan Tian crew cab SE 4x4. I bought 2008 in august. So i thought the sales man was just, pulling my leg to make a sale. But it is true 2008.5 Titian does exist. I think For the SE titan its the Longer bed option of 7 or 8ft. longer wheel base.
