Gutting the rear cats is a piece of cake, just make sure you wear a breathing mask. When I gutted mine I used a 12" 1/2 extension and a hammer then a long flat head screwdriver to get the cotton looking crap out. The rear cats are pretty thin so minimal force with the hammer is required.
