Or if anyone else can answer this question or use it as reference. Can a monitor be wired to the ext switch from the Dnx7100, enabling it to turn on/off the monitor? Does it require a relay, if so, what type?
It should have a video out in the back of the head unit and you should be able to control what you want on the screen independently.Tonka Titan said:Or if anyone else can answer this question or use it as reference. I luv this site and for it's quick responses. However, that wasn't the answer to my question. I guess I need to clarify...I already have the video out hooked up. I love that I am able to send out my aux in, ipod or dvd. For my farenheit, I need to use the remote to turn it on/off. My question; is it possible to hook up the monitor's power to one of the dnx7100's ext switch to turn the monitor on/off? If so, do i need a relay? 30amp 12vdc?P-Dizzle said:It should have a video out in the back of the head unit and you should be able to control what you want on the screen independently.
I don't think the 7100 has internal switches to operate 12 volt sources but you could throw a relay on the remote wire so it will turn on and off with the head or you could add a manual switch.Tonka Titan said:I luv this site and for it's quick responses. Thanks P, I was planning on doing that in the first place. Going to purchase an extra oem 3rd brake light switch and use that as my toggle.P-Dizzle said:I don't think the 7100 has internal switches to operate 12 volt sources but you could throw a relay on the remote wire so it will turn on and off with the head or you could add a manual switch.
Use a basic SPDT 30 amp relay.
85 - Ground
86 - Remote
30 - Monitor
87 - 12 Volt Constant
87a - Not used
No prob. You can throw a toggle on the monitor on top of the remote cable if you still want the option of manual operation. You will need to diode isolate though.Tonka Titan said:Thanks P, I was planning on doing that in the first place. Going to purchase an extra oem 3rd brake light switch and use that as my toggle.
