I just purchased the MAG-HYTEC differential cover. In the install directions, it mentions adding a Stuart Friction Modifier product if you have a "limited slip" differential.
I have never heard anyone mention anything about this. Any and all thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Eric

What brand diff fluid are you putting back in, most name brands have some kind of friction modifier already in the fluid. Either way, it's not needed in the Titan as far as I know.

Friction modifiers are often used in clutch-type LSDs like what I use in my Nissan race cars. Those type of LSDs can lockup so abruptly they can interfere with smooth driving, and can actually break parts! But trucks like the Titan use a viscous LSD (VLSD) that use the lubricants properties to help lockup the gears when slip is apparent. I've never seen a friction modifier used in VLSDs- usually only the GL-5 lubricant in an OEM rear end.
