I'm thinking about buying the Magnaflow 12256 Muffler for my 2006 Titan and I keep reading that it has to be welded on. Is that the case? I was hoping to just be able to clamp it or possibly gas weld it myself. As the muffler is stainless I assume it needs to be tig welded.

Are there any other bolt on options similiar (in sound and performance) to the Magnaflow?

Regular muffler clamps will have leaks, so either weld it or use stainless band clamps.

no it does not to be tig welded. just spray the weld with a paint or somthing so it doesnt rust. where are you @?? i have the duel in single out for sale already welded to the pipes with flanges to bolt to the cats. (like shailey tested ala 2007 style to fit previous yrs) only 3 months old let me know if you want it.

Or go to Autozone and buy a tube of exhaust gasket silicone for $3 and use the cheap uBolts. You put the gasket stuff on first, then slide them together. Welding is a PITA.

I'm in NJ. I was looking to just replace the stock 1 in 1 out muffler. I'm actually thinking about getting the flowmaster instead. I've been talking to a few people and most of them say thwy like it better.

Basically, I want something that sounds good but is not super loud in the cab. I'd like to be able to carry on a conversation at highway speed without shouting.
