Dreaded P0430 Error

My truck started throwing the P0430 error a couple weeks ago. I have tried a few things and even brought it to a recommended muffler guy, who turned out to probably not want to work on it and just sent me to the dealer.

The dealer wants to charge me $2k for replacing the bank2 exhaust manifold. Sorry not doing that.

So what I am getting to. In my research I found a good video on diagnosing a P0420/P0430 error and it said to watch the O2 sensors. What I noticed was odd, my bank 2 sensor 1 is not switching at all, it's staying constant at .6/.7 rather than switching between .5/.005 like it should. That said bank 2 sensor 2 is switching like mad, so I've probably got a bad cat (which I'm going to just put a spacer in sensor 2 since I live in FL and we have no inspections). Also I've been smelling a lot of fuel in the exhaust and I think this explains it.

Before I spend the money on a new sensor, I'd like to see if anyone here knows any other possible causes for this other than a bad sensor

Rather than Jerry Rigging it, why not just put some aftermarket manifolds on there and call it a day? Like you said: Florida doesn't have emissions so it really doesn't matter. More than likely you probably have a cracked manifold.

I have a 05 2wd titan and after 195k miles I finally got that code a couple weeks ago. Whats the best route to go for the fix?? and how costly are we talking?
9 times out of 10 its a cracked manifold or bad cat. These trucks are notorious for this and why Cajun Bpipes fix is so sucessful. Do not put a aftermarket manifold or used oem manifold on the truck go with the permanent fix the Cajun Stage 1. The labor involved is something you only want to do or pay once trust me. The manifold design has been a issue since day 1 and contiunes with the current year model. The truck will be out of tune if you simply gut the cats and if its a non flex it can go dangerosly lean causing engine failure. The flex trucks do the oposite and usually run rich so bung extenders dont fix the truck but longtube headers and Uprev tuning will. Dont take my word for it do your research on this forum and other Nissan forums for the correct fix on this issue. Cajun Bpipes | shreveport, LA 71129 Feel free to give me a call.

Cajun Stage 1 $1470 shipped and is half the cost over manifolds that will fail again. Big hp/tq increases and no loss of mpg! Do your homework before you spend a dime.
