Hey everyone need a little help. I am the proud owner of a 2006 XE I am just starting to make many upgrades everything from cooling system, suspension, exhaust and tires and wheels. However when I got my Truck I upgraded from a ford F-150, after reading post on this site I have discovered that I don't have the "The Big Tow Package" well this is the reason I got my Titian, so with that being said, what would be the best was to change my gear ratio to upgrade to the Truck that Tow what I want.

If you have 4 wheel drive you have to change the front diff too. I think the big tow is 3.36 and what you have is the 2.93. I think unless you are towing a lot, you'll be fine. The only thing I tow is a boat and it's pretty lite and occasionally a small trailer. If you are going to tow more than 6k, you could make the change and while your at it might as well put a locker in there as well, but get out your checkbook because it's a salty upgrade.

thanks for the reply. two drive have travel trailer weighs 8400 lbs so need to make upgrade can I get a rear diff?

You could just regear the rear. I'm sure you could get a decent price. I'd shop around I think there is a site sponser. Just differentials I think. It's up to you whether or not to do a locker and what gear to go with. I might move up to higher ratio if I were you. That would also depend on having a shop or do it yourself and budget
