Has anyone tried this yet. looked around but didn't see it.
The other day after having someone jack-up my lock 2 times 1 in which I had to get the whole side repainted. I went down and got the chrome piece where the key goes and instead of the original one I got the same side rear one and installed it. Looks alot cleaner and if it's not showing I think the might not keep jamming it with a screw driver. i have an aftermarket alarm that poens the locks and just ordered the keyless entry pad so I should have no problems. The lock is still under the cover but not visible. Parts were a whole retail price of $12.00...P/N 80646ZC00A It comes with the inner piece but you only need to use the cover...

No, not 2 right ones. I used the small chrome square part for the rear door on the CC. So basicly 2 rear lefts.

I can't say that I've ever used the key to open the door. The only time I've used it is to see that the windows go up/down with the key, so ghey...

I don't know that I've heard of too many Titans stolen. Those chipped keys work pretty damn good! Although, having to get a paint job or new handle would be a pain in the arse. Nice idea!

I like tha idea but what if the battary dies and the truck is locked?
That'd be a pretty rare occurrence that the battery would die on its own. The titan will shut down power if the voltage goes below a certain point. Start... maybe not, but open the doors, most likely with the battery saver feature.

If you had to you could use the key. You can take the cover off in an emergency to use it that way without to much of a problem.
