ok well i just found some others with the same problems....
Found others?? Thread link, perhaps? I hate to hear of this from our Titans and would like to know more on the subject.
do a search and you should be able to find what you need
When did you last have your transmission serviced? I take it you are over 60,000 miles if you say you are out of warranty. The service manual calls for a tranny flush at 60,000. Did you not know this? Probably why you may be having a problem.

Why was this posted in the Performance Modifications forum? It has been moved to the appropriate section for you.
Hey, I know what you're talking about. I was just about to do a search to see if it was a problem. Mine has just started doing it over the last couple of days (0*F outside). I think (at least I'm hoping) that it just has to do with the cold weather and the truck not being warmed up yet. The rpm's will climb fast with the drivetrain lacking behind. Then when it shifts, it damn near sounds like my rear axle is going to fall off. But, after a few minutes of driving around (after the truck warms up) all seems to be normal again. However, my gas mileage seemed to drop WAY DOWN while this was going on. I just got 8.4 mpg until I filled up this morning (from 3/4 tank). Hopefully this crap will end soon...
If you keep the fluid changed at required intervals, most trannies will last far beyond the time you keep your truck. The single most damaging thing to a tranny is lack of transmission maintence. I am now convinced that the Maxlife transmission fluid is ok to use on our Titans. I will use on my next flush. At about $3.50 a quart, it is a lot cheaper to change even more frequent. JMO
well i bought the truck with 61k. it was 06 nissans parts delivery truck. so youd figure that all the required servicing would be done.... i was dumb enough not to get the extended warranty..... i kicking my self for that now....

i do really hope that there is fix for this.....

Why don't you find out if the servicing was done?

thats my next step... im going to see if i could find out today....
if you haven't already done it, have the tranny flushed. i don't believe this is an easy home job without a pump...

but I was having same problem. flushed/replaced tranny fluid and all was right in the world again.
My truck is out of warranty and I will be switching to the new Maxlife tranny fluid on my next flush. At $3.50 a quart I can afford to change more often. Maxlife has told me in writing that their fluid is reccomended for Titan trannies requiring Nissan Matic j.
My transmission started doing this last month and over three days got worse and worse until i could barely drive it, took it into the dealership and they replaced the entire transmission and torque converter under warranty....lucky because its over 4000$ in parts alone (they also replaced the transmission lines and cooler, as well as the torn mount and the transfer case seal, the total parts bill was closer to 5000$) my 04 4x4 had 84,000km on it. Good as new now...or another 84,000km at least lol. I bought full extended till 160,000km and i will surely sell it at 158,000 the Titan is not a truck to own without a warranty:crying:
just the other day i went in and had the $260 service to have it flushed..... now its all back to good with no problems it even seems to shift beter then before.....
