Drove an XD

For anyone close to Danville, VA...Woodall Nissan has a Titan XD Platinum Reserve. I went to look at it aand before I could even ask they threw me the keys and told me to drive it. It the dark burgandy color with 20" black chrome wheels. The interior is brown and burgandy leather with a few wood accents. So let me say this, whatever hesitation I had in the new truck is now gone. The truck is beautiful, even if it does resemble a Ford in many ways. The comfort level, once seated, is phenomenal. The seats are ridiculously made, wide enough that you feel like youre in a high end recliner, but formed in a way that they seem to hug you gently when youre in them. Unfortunately for me, it was raining that morning, so I couldnt do everything I wanted to, but the drive was pretty sweet. Although I can say it was impressively smooth, it still feels like a truck unlike other larger so called luxurious pickups. The acceleration is there, but as I said, it was pouring rain and I didnt want to do take any chances in a $61k truck that wasnt mine. $61k, wow. Sorry, I cant seem to get over that part. Anyway, ive never really done a review, so I hope this is somewhat informative to somebody. By the way, the salesman DID tell me that they already know that everyone is going to want to drive that truck, so theyre prepared. If youre close to the Danville area, theyll let you take it.

Good seats? That's a French trait. Not surprised to read that.

$60K+ for a truck is ridiculously expensive.
But I don't think Nissan is marketing the XD for the average joe.
They are marketing it for the average rancher/work site type. Someone who tows lots, and/or needs a truck on the job.

I'm thinking(hoping) the 2016 Titan gasser will be better priced for the average middle class joe. IMHO.

$60k isn't really that ridiculously expensive for a loaded vehicle anymore.
Too much for blood, though.

Yeah and that is kind of the sad part. Vehicles are just ridiculously expensive anymore.
If Nissan offers a mess of package options like Ford does there will be a lot more titans on the road. Besides the manifold and differential issues from the 1st gen, a regular cab would of made a great fleet vehicle.

Which would affect pricing. I looked at an xd sv 2wd. Not worth the 54k msrp.

A farmer/rancher will purchase wisely, and spend their money on a better "work" suited 3/4 ton diesel. This truck is more suited for the Yuppie type, towing their Minett-Shields around.

JohnnyMac... You aint lyin!! Chevrolet and Ford are almost as proud of their trucks as Toyota is! I mean come on, $40K for a Tacoma?

It's not that those trucks are actually worth 40-60k, but that banks now float loans for up to 8yrs, coupled with insanely low interest rates. Hell, most manufactures have been promoting 0% interest for years now. People tend to spend more than they can afford, especially when they think they are getting a "great deal".

True, I do see a lot of loaded up F-150 Platinum's running around with ladder racks and being used as work trucks. It's not as bad when you can use it as a tax write off.
I drove an SV version at the Nissan dealership in Lumberton NC.....i loved the comfort of the interior, however the leg room is about the same as in my 14 P4X. I thought that was wierd considering how much bigger the body of the truck is. As for the acceleration, honestly my P4X feels faster as per my Butt Dyno! :) The price is a bit high in my opinion.....if i were to buy one i think i would wait on the Gasoline P4X version later this year.
Ditto for me. I am more interested in the gasser than the diesel. I have seen only one XD Platinum for sale on Vancouver Island, and it was $59000 CAD.
Please dont compare the " acceleration " of an almost 8000 pound Diesel truck to our gen 1 gas. two different animals here. Remember this is a work truck! Like a Ford Superduty is.

BUT!!! When owners add full bolt ons and a tune i wouldnt try and race them ;) just a fair warning :)
