Dry Silicone on Windows?

Who all has used dry silicone on their windows?

My dealership said that they suggest applying dry silicone to the widow tracks and rubber seal as a maintenance item. This is to prevent windows getting the "slow poke syndrome".

My question is: If the "dry" silicone is in a spray can (liquid form) will it cause any streaks across the glass?

I used silicone in the tracks of a '93 Ford Aerostar van that had sticking windows. It worked. I don't know how I managed to get enough silicone in the track with the window still in there, but it worked. To be really effective I think you would need to pull the door panel and shoot silicone on the track with the window up.

Look for the brand "Zip"... It is a dry aerosol spray that is used as a mold release.

Is silicone spray the same as "dry silicone"?

I got this...haven't used it yet.
